I can imagine it must have been...overwhelming. ( For Astarion? For John? Both. Probably both. )

We are, yes. It was a bit odd, to say the least, but I was in the Peacekeepers quarters and I...do not remember going in. And when I exited it was with memories of the last realm Astarion and I visited.

Crichton will pull himself up out of his depression nap, hair mussed and shirt wrinkled, and go crack the door open slightly. That way, when Nobunaga gets here, he can come right in.]

[Nobunaga shows up with drinks, pulse pistol, and is torn between between punching Crichton or hugging him. Which is normal reaction to Hideyoshi getting injured. He's decided now seeing Crichton alive, he can think of death here like that: a severe injury. Gun, tequila, and whiskey are immediately handed over, but he has to dig into his batman utility belt (yes, thank you Spirit Halloween) for salt and limes.]

[He doesn't say anything right away, letting Crichton speak if he wants to.]

[He'd take the punch or the hug both with the same amount of humor. Yeah, yeah, he knows. It was stupid to go up against a possessed Jeff like that. He should have called for backup. Hindsight is 20-20.

But, just as soon as he's holstered his gun again and set the bottles of booze aside on the desk, he's going to make the decision easier on Nobunaga--by opening his own arms up for that hug.]

[That does make it a lot easier!!! Nobunaga is not a hugging type. Shocking, really. The Demon King doesn't hug normally. Who could have ever guessed? But Crichton gets a million kinds of exceptions on account of being his first official friend and that means everything to him.]

[So he just leans into it and rests his forehead on Crichton's shoulder, the best he can do at hugging back.] I failed you already. You can't call me a lifesaver. Just a gun-saver. And as much as I love weapons, I can't fire everyone's guns on my own, I need soldiers to wield them. And you're not even a soldier, you're a non-combatant. Astronaut. Getting into danger worse than my soldiers... Tch!

[Grumpy huff! And kind of roughly bonks his head onto Crichton's shoulder.] What happened?

[April from across the hall...? Maybe it's just the whole waking up from death thing but why does that take him a minute to place? A vague memory of their meeting a few times does eventually come into focus, and it's someone he's sure he's heard Arthur mention a few times, right? Damn, he needs some coffee or something.]

Hey, you can't be everywhere at once. It's my own fault for not telling you.

[That sad bonk makes him chuff out a soft laugh of his own. He's used to this type of reaction from Aeryn already. Now, she really might have decked him though. For his part, Crichton lightly headbutts Nobunaga back.]

For the record, I've been in a lot of fire-fights in my life for someone who isn't a soldier. I'm no stranger to being in peril.

[And yet, this one was the one that got him. Go figure.]

I found Jeff singing in the store and I tried to approach him. He knew I was onto him right away, I guess. He didn't feel like talking, so he strung me up with the decorations.

[There's a small smile at the headbutt back and he starts relaxing, calming down, though he definitely feels some of the Demon King ice creeping back in. The mention of Jeff gets him to pull back and arch eyebrows. Jeff was definitely acting weird, more than just Nobunaga's paranoia.]

Do you know what's wrong with him? Or... where he is now?

He's been possessed by a ghost. Might be one of the ghosts from on this ship. I'm sure he ran off after he stabbed me, so... no. I don't know where he is. But I do know that Bash is looking for him. Before you try to find him or do anything, you should talk to Bash. Jeff was--is--his boyfriend.

Yeah, I remember Jeff told me about him. [Makes a face, because ew gross. Nobunaga's like a five year old about such things.] I think Arthur said he's in the brig now. Not-Jeff. He was acting off, but I couldn't prove it, and he still knew what Jeff had done or not when I tried testing him. [Not completely what he did now with asking Crichton if he knew, since this was more getting onto the same page.]

There was a lot of fire damage, do you remember anything about that? It might have been when Jeff was captured.

Good. I'm glad someone managed to put his ass in time-out. Hopefully, Bash can pull off that exorcism he planned.

[Nobunaga's face just... slowly goes very amused. THIS is why you're his friend, FOR SURE. It's something Hideyoshi would have said and done too, but with even less annoyance factor somehow.]

It's not that widespread. Plenty of costumes left, I promise. I'll cordon the burned area off. Maybe use some of those decoration tombstones. Anything you want on yours? A cool epitaph or something. [Yes, "cool." Nobunaga has gone so very native here.]
